What does it mean to you to be a Heartland Community banker?

Being a Heartland Community banker gives me the opportunity to build relationships with our customers. It also gives me the opportunity to give back to our community. Heartland encourages us as employees to spend time volunteering in our community. I have taken advantage of this by volunteering time at both the FOP/A Golf Outing which I help organize, as well as the Boys & Girls Club Golf Outing. This is such a great way to share the community values of Heartland Bank while also giving back!

How do you help your customers and community thrive in your role?

One thing I love about my role is getting to have direct conversations with our customers on a daily basis. There is no better feeling than being told how much you have helped someone during a phone call. Getting to have meaningful conversations is something I truly value about working at a community bank.

Provide an example of a time you were proud to see your work make an impact?

One thing that always makes me proud is when I get the chance to recommend Heartland Bank to those around me. Whether it be a friend who needs a mortgage, a business owner who wants to move their business accounts, or a family member who is needing a new bank. I jump at the opportunity to recommend Heartland, and it makes me proud to hear the great feedback I receive from those who take me up on the recommendation!

What was the journey that led you to this role?

One of my favorite things about Heartland is my journey here. I started in April 2021 as an intern who wasn't exactly sure what my path would be. After graduating college in December 2021, I started full time as a Loan Servicing Specialist. I was eventually promoted to Senior Loan Servicing Specialist. Most recently, I have been promoted to Assistant Manager of the Residential Loan Servicing Department. I truly value my role at Heartland Bank, a division of German American Bank, and I look forward to my future with the company.
