Transaction Management System (TMS)

Prevent fraud at the point of sale with transaction management from Heartland Bank, a division of German American Bank.

Three essential treasury management tools rolled into one.

In a study for the world's top card issuers and financial institutions, industry research company Nilson Report predicts the cost of card fraud could soar to $400 billion worldwide by 2032.1

Heartland Bank, a division of German American Bank's TMS helps prevent card fraud by combining three powerful fraud prevention tools – Check Positive Pay, ACH Positive Pay and Account Reconciliation – into one digital tool dedicated to monitoring transactions.

Check Positive Pay electronically monitors check transactions for unauthorized or fraudulent activity, enhancing your safeguards against fraud.2 Accessed via Business Online Banking, Check Positive Pay lets you transmit check data to Heartland Bank, a division of German American Bank when you issue checks. Items presented for payment are quickly scanned for inconsistencies with the data in our database. Items not found will be reported to you as exceptions that require a pay or return decision. You can view digitized images of exception items online to help make the call.

ACH Positive Pay addresses the need to act more diligently in monitoring ACH activity due to the rising potential for ACH fraud based on an increase in ACH transactions for corporate payments.2 ACH Positive Pay provides a simple, effective solution that defines ACH business rules at the account level. In turn, every ACH transaction posted to the account is scrutinized to determine whether a transaction warrants further review.

The business rules that support ACH Positive Pay include:

  • ACH Authorization, which scours a list of ACH transactions pre-approved to post to an account for ACH business rules such as originating company, standard entry class, transaction type and maximum dollar amount
  • ACH Transaction Monitoring, which provides a list of general guidelines for monitoring ACH activity and alerts you of items that exceed these guidelines

Account Reconciliation provides numerous ways to manage transaction activity and reconcile accounts, including everything from a full online reconcilement statement to a downloadable reconcilement file.2 If you do business at multiple locations, you'll benefit from deposit reconciliation, which provides a detailed list of all deposit activity for the reconcilement period, grouped by location. Here's the full list of account reconcilement tools available through Heartland Bank, a division of German American Bank:

  • Online full account reconcilement statement
