At Heartland, we believe that when a community thrives, its people prosper. This April, as we celebrate Community Banking Month, we’re honored to recognize the outstanding work of Scott Watson, Levi Johnson, and Maggie Colombini, a team that has gone above and beyond to serve our community and make a lasting impact.
This team in West Columbus recently partnered with John Rush, founder of CleanTurn, an organization dedicated to creating jobs and changing perceptions for individuals who have been incarcerated or are in recovery. CleanTurn’s mission aligns closely with Heartland’s values, making this collaboration especially meaningful.
Scott, Levi, and Maggie worked with John to provide financial literacy education for CleanTurn employees, addressing critical topics like building credit, buying a car, and purchasing a home. Their sessions were designed to meet employees where they are on their financial journeys, demonstrating an empathetic and individualized approach.
By taking the time to understand each employee’s unique circumstances, this team is empowering individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to overcome barriers and achieve financial stability. Their dedication embodies our belief that strong communities are built through strong relationships – and that education is a powerful tool for transformation.
The team’s commitment to supporting CleanTurn employees serves as an inspiring example of what it means to be a community banker. They’ve shown that true impact comes from listening, understanding, and creating actionable paths forward for those we serve.
As we continue celebrating Community Banking Month, we encourage you to connect with your local community bankers, who go the extra mile every day to support and uplift our neighborhoods. Thank you, Scott, Levi, and Maggie, for your leadership and commitment to making a difference!
