At Heartland, we believe that when a community thrives, its people prosper. As we celebrate Community Banking Month this April, we are proud to recognize Julie Radabaugh, a community banker who exemplifies what it means to serve with heart and dedication.

Julie recently demonstrated her commitment to going above and beyond when a customer called in for assistance. The customer, recovering from surgery, shared that they were unable to mow their lawn and their family was unavailable to help. Recognizing the stress this caused the customer, Julie didn’t hesitate to step in!

After work that day, Julie went to the customer’s home to mow their lawn. When she discovered that the customer’s mower wasn’t functioning, she returned to her own home to retrieve her mower and completed the job herself. The customer was brought to tears by Julie’s selflessness and moved by the care and effort Julie took to help during a difficult time.

Julie’s actions embody our belief that community banking is about more than transactions – it’s about building relationships and supporting the people who make our neighborhoods special. Her willingness to treat her customers like family and her readiness to lend a helping hand reflect the very best of what community banking is all about.

Beyond moments like this, Julie is an active volunteer who is always the first to raise her hand to assist. In her spare time, she also teaches English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, further demonstrating her dedication to uplifting and empowering others. Her commitment to service extends far beyond her role, making a lasting impact on her customers, colleagues, and the broader community.

As we highlight the incredible work of community bankers like Julie during Community Banking Month, we are reminded of the power of small acts of kindness to make a big difference. Thank you, Julie, for your compassion, leadership, and commitment to helping others thrive. You inspire us all!
