Available April 14 – June 30 for you to view and/or download your past transaction history and statements. Use the same login credentials (user name and password) you used to log into your online banking prior to April 14.

On February 1, 2025, Heartland Bank began operating and serving our valued customers and communities as a division of German American Bank. Throughout the weekend of April 12 and 13, we are taking the next steps in our stronger together journey by combining our organizations with a systems conversion. Please refer to your Stronger Together Packet and any other information we mailed to you. Find answers to common questions below.

Most importantly, continue to bank as usual with Heartland Bank, now a division of German American Bank. Continue using your current supply of Heartland Bank checks, deposit tickets,  and your current check (debit) card.

All Heartland Bank offices will be closed on Saturday, April 12, for our system conversion weekend. All offices will open as usual on Monday, April 14. The heartland.bank website will also be refreshed with a new look and easy navigation.

- Your routing number remains the same, unless you were among a small group of customers who were notified of a duplicate account number.   

- Your direct deposits will continue as usual.

- Automatic drafts that use your account number and routing number will remain unchanged.

Over the system conversion weekend, we will update the online and mobile banking platforms.  As shown in the timeline above, online and mobile banking will not be accessible to you starting at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, April 11 to 8:00 A.M. on Monday, April 14. On April 14, visit heartland.bank to log in using your current log in. Please notice the new menu bar experience. You will not have access to your past account transaction or statement history, yet can access this information by using the “Online Banking-View Only” log in which will be located in the “Sign In” button on heartland.bank on April 14.  Before Friday, April 11, at 5:00 P.M., you can also download any account transaction or statement history from your current online banking site.

Mobile banking will not be accessible to you starting at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, April 11 to 8:00 A.M. on Monday, April 14. On Monday, April 14, you need to start using the new Heartland Bank mobile banking app and log in using your current credentials. Please notice the new menu bar experience. You can download the updated app now, so you are prepared for the 14th, yet keep using your current Heartland Bank mobile banking app through 5:00 P.M. on Friday, April 11. You will not have access to your past account transaction or statement history, yet can access this information by using the “Online Banking-View Only” log in which will be located in the “Sign In” button on heartland.bank on April 14. Before Friday, April 11, at 5:00 P.M., you can also download any account transaction or statement history from your current online banking site. 

If you use Bill Pay, be aware that it will not be available from 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 10 through 8:00 A.M. on Monday, April 14. Although you cannot initiate any payments during this time, all bills you have scheduled and/or set as recurring payments will be paid and continued as you set.

You will receive communication from Heartland Bank, and at times, directly from German American Bank. Also, some application links, like online loan applications, will be branded German American Bank. Communications coming from, and services offered through, Heartland Bank and German American Bank are valid and safe to review and utilize.

Note: As always, be on alert for any fraudulent communication that appears to be sent from Heartland Bank or German American Bank. Never share your personal information such as account number, social security number, personal identification number (PIN), etc. If you are unsure about a communication appearing to come from our organization or are concerned you are a target of a fraud attempt, call us directly at (800)697-0049.

  • ACH Transactions - Effective April 14, cut-off times are as follows: 10:00 AM, 1:30 PM, and 5:00 PM. The 5:00 PM cut-off will be next day processing. All same day files must be authorized by 1:30 PM.
  • Wire Transactions - Wire transfer cut-off time is 4:00 PM starting April 14.
  • Remote Deposit Capture - Starting April 14, same day cut-off time will be 6:00 PM.
  • Positive Pay - Cut-off time remaining at 1:00 PM.

There will be no changes in your paper statements or eStatements preference. Your statement may arrive at a slightly different time of the month after April 14.

Your loan account number(s) will not change. Continue to make your loan payments and use your Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) checks as you usually do. For ultimate convenience, you can manage your loan within online and mobile banking services. Starting on April 14 you may also make one-time payments or establish recurring payments on the refreshed heartland.bank website by visiting heartland.bank/make-a-loan-payment.

Starting Monday, April 14, if you use an incoming wire transfer service, you will need to provide the following information to the originator to use

  • Receiving Bank: German American Bank
  • Receiving ABA number: 083904563

  • Beneficiary name, address and account number:

  • If the beneficiary will need further handling instructions, those should be provided to the sending bank as well, such as “for final credit to,” “payment on invoice number,” or “credit account number,” etc.

  • International SWIFT code: GEAEUS31XXX

Your accounts and services will transition to Heartland Bank, a division of German American Bank on Monday, April 14.  Please refer to your Stronger Together Packet for complete details. Continue using your Heartland Bank Credit Card as normal. As your expiration date approaches, we will reissue your card with an updated expiration date, as usual.

Starting on April 14, you will have access to over 55,000 Allpoint ATMs. Allpoint ATMs will replace MoneyPass as your fee-free ATM network nationwide. You can also use any ATM owned by German American Bank, including Heartland Bank, a division of German American Bank, located throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana fee free.
