Saturday, March 18, 2017/Categories: Awards, Employee Spotlight

Photo of Kayla with Two KidsThis month’s Employee Spotlight features another respected colleague and self-motivated member of the Heartland Bank team, Wilson Road Lead Universal Banker (UB), Kayla Collins. In her role as Lead UB, Kayla supervises the CSR (Client Service Representatives) line, coaches employees, builds relationships with customers and takes care of operational responsibilities.

“When I joined Heartland Bank four years ago, I never dreamed I would have made such strong relationships with my clients,” Kayla said. “They depend on me to make sure they are taken care of and to ensure we are meeting all their needs. That’s a big responsibility,” she said.

Heartland CEO Scott McComb said, “We do grow bankers here at Heartland but we demand a centered moral compass as the starting block. Kayla not only has this quality, but also embraces the empowerment we provide to help each of her clients thrive, and this allows her to be a superstar!"

Born in Mount Vernon, Ohio, Kayla graduated from high school in Cincinnati and then moved to Columbus in 2011, shortly before joining the Heartland Bank team in October of 2012. She is proud to have worked her way up to Lead UB from her first job at Heartland as a Client Service Representative. “Since I started at Heartland Bank, I’ve continued to learn and grow so I can be a better asset to my customers, my co-workers and the bank,” she said.

The Quality and Excellence Award has been a tradition at Heartland Bank since 1994 and many of our employees proudly wear the pin each day that signifies this honor. Employees that have been given this award were chosen based on excellent customer service, being an example of a team player, helping other employees and exceeding the expectations of their job duties and responsibilities. Kayla was proud to be presented with the Quality and Excellence pin in October of 2013. To her, it means “Dedication, hard work and going above and beyond for our clients.”

Kayla is a proud Heartland Bank employee. “At Heartland,” she said “we build relationships with our customers and get to know you and your family. Sure, you can open a checking account next door at a ‘Big Bank’ but you will not get the level of customer service that we provide here at Heartland.” Kayla supports the West Columbus community by volunteering at the Hilltop Bean Dinner and Summer Jam Westgate, where she helps with concession sales and enjoys interacting with current and future Heartland customers.

It’s bankers like Kayla Collins that allow Heartland Bank to give such great customer service, day in and day out. Stop in and see her at the Wilson Road branch today!
